May 6, 2014 (Carbondale, Colorado) – Completing its seventh annual Film Festival, 5Point Film delivered another inspirational weekend of films, speakers, and stories, completing its most successful festival yet. Bringing together the industry’s best filmmakers, athletes and artists along with thousands of festival-goers this year’s celebration set new records for attendance and awards, including a dozen world premiers and over 50 special guests.

“Beyond sharing creative and inspiring films, 5Point is a community event bringing together artists, athletes, and story tellers. Because of the success this year, we are excited to announce 5Point will expand to a more national level, hosting festivals in Boston, Portland and beyond later this year,” shared executive director Sarah Wood. “5Point is coming off its strongest year ever in terms of attendance – selling out programs consistently and seeing greater participation across the board for all 5Point events throughout the weekend.”

The annual film festival and celebration sold out nearly every scheduled screening and had many special moments including guests Katie Lee, Kai and Connie Lightner, Heather “The Heat” Hardy, and Slomo, as well as performances by Kelly Cordes in The Dark Hours and Wade Newsom’s Passion.
