Zeal Optics Launches Eco-Friendly Metal Sunglass Collection

Boulder, Colo. – July 26, 2021 – Zeal Optics introduces its new Metals Collection, the brand’s eco-friendly take metal sunglasses. From frame to lens to nose pads, the Metals Collection of sunglasses uses planet-friendly materials including recyclable stainless steel, as well as Hexetate, an eco-friendly, recyclable material that is BPA free and lighter than traditional plastics and acetates. It also features the brand’s plant-based Ellume Polarized lenses, and ceramic nose pads engineered from a mixture of clay and earthen materials.
“As we continue to evolve our portfolio of sustainable products, we knew the next step was creating a collection of metal frames with all the benefits of sustainable materials,” said Mike Lewis, director of marketing at Zeal Optics. “We put our Zeal Optics twist on this collection, giving it a sustainable focus in a traditional style we all know and love – the aviator.”
The Metals Collection consist of three lightweight frames Pescadero, Easterly and Shipstern, all weighing approximately 0.8 ounces (MSRP $199).
- Pescadero – Marked as the flagship style in the Metals Collection, Pescadero is inspired by the ocean’s swell and is the definition of style and functionality. This medium/large-fit frame impresses with its comfort, details and design.
- Easterly – Round, geometric lenses harken back to classic styles from the 1960s, while its features and construction mark a new day in technology in this small/medium-fit.
- Shipstern – With commanding views and inspiring style, Shipstern is big on comfort, quality and thoughtful features in a small-fit aviator shape.
