Floyd, VA – December 9, 2010 – Across-the-Way Productions (AtWP), producers of FloydFest and Floyd Fandango, family friendly, music festivals in the outdoor hiking and biking Mecca of southwest Virginia, announces today their partnership with Darby Communications. Effective immediately, Darby
Communications will implement a public relations campaign to broaden AtWP’s event awareness, allowing more people to enjoy music, nature, camping and summer fun in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains.
“As an agency based in the southeast, we are very excited for the opportunity to work with AtWP,†says Coral Darby, founder of Darby Communications. “These one-of-a-kind festivals offer a unique experience in a location, rich in scenic beauty and Appalachian roots and deserve to be shared with the industry.â€
FloydFest 2011 marks the 10th birthday bash for the annual, four day, music and arts festival held at Mile Post 170.5 on the Blue Ridge Parkway, from July 28-31. Holiday discounted tickets are available for under $100, and include four solid days of music in the great outdoors on locally built, rustic timber stages. Festival organizers report record opening ticket sales and are preparing to host what will likely
be a sell-out audience. Ticket sales are capped, to ensure maximum listening and relaxing comfort for all attendees. Tent camping, RV camping, delicious food and regional wines and microbrews are also available for purchase. Younger listeners are always welcome at the festival and in their own magical
Children’s Universe with a dedicated kid friendly performer stage, special classes, balloons, playground, a family sized sandbox and more.
Some of the headliners for 2011 include Taj Mahal, Del McCoury Band, David Grisman Quintet, Yard Dogs Road Show and Sam Bush Band. In addition to entertaining the crowd with top notch melodies and music, many of the artists will give an intimate ‘workshop’ performance on the Appalachian- style ‘workshop porch.’
Floyd Fandango, happening July 2 & 3 at the same beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway site, provides two days of soulful sounds washed down by the sweet libations of local Virginia wineries and craft brewers. On-site camping is available as are plenty of opportunities to hit the hiking and biking trails.
