LOS ANGELES (Aug. 1, 2016) – adidas Outdoor, the athletic brand in the outdoors, showcases its expanded collection of ultra-lightweight apparel for fast paced activities for spring/summer 2017, including shorts, jackets, tees and pants at Outdoor Retailer Summer Market, Aug. 3 – 6, 2016 in Salt Lake City. Its wide range of garments combine lightweight fabrics, best-in-class technologies and versatility for a broad array of activities including backpacking, climbing, hiking, mountain biking, trail running and water sports.

“At adidas outdoor we focus our attention on the next-generation outdoor athlete, relentlessly creating products that improve performance,” said Greg Thomsen, managing director, adidas Outdoor U.S. “We are continually looking at ways to engineer our products so that they perform at the very highest level for both the professional athlete or the weekend warrior, no matter what the terrain or conditions might present.”

Its lineup of apparel styles include: the Agravic Alpha Shield Hoodie, the Agravic Wind Shirt, and Terrex Agravic Shorts (weighing just 1.8-ounces to 6.3-ounces) for men and women. They feature technologies from its respected list of brand partners, including Pertex® Equilibrium, a moisture management material with a double weave construction more open on the inside to help move moisture way from the user, improving the level of comfort; Pertex Quantum®, fine yarns, precisely woven to provide a very lightweight, yet strong and durable fabric, and its softness allows down and synthetic insulation to fully loft; and Polartec® Alpha, an insulator that provides warmth without the weight, that is breathable and insulates when wet.

adidas Outdoor athletes utilize its ultra-lightweight gear and apparel for everyday workouts, training and competitions to ensure they perform at top levels in all situations.

“Fast, light, and clean lines are the quickest way to move in the mountains,” said adidas Outdoor athlete, alpinist Don Bowie. “adidas Outdoor adopted the same mantra with the Agravic short. The cut allows a full range of motion, avoiding that boxy feel of extra material. Its designers have smartly replaced the drawstring with a fitted waistband that includes an integrated stow pocket. The way I like to move in the mountains is fast, light, and along the cleanest lines, and my gear needs to move the same way.”

Since 2014, the Aspen Alpine Guides have wear-tested adidas Outdoor apparel, providing feedback on function, performance, fit and comfort and style. Its designers always incorporate input from both athletes and guides when developing new apparel and updating styles.
