ADVENTURE FILM FESTIVAL AIMS TO INSPIRE AND CONNECT COMMUNITY MEMBERS WITH LOCAL RECREATION RESOURCES

July 25, 2013 – This summer, 5Point Film Festival has partnered with the American Alpine Club to host a series of one-night adventure film events throughout the Northwest. This is the first year 5Point Film is taking their act on the road, and their first stop is Boise, Idaho.

5Point’s “On the Road” event in Boise is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 12th, at the Grove Plaza, with the doors opening at 5p.m.

The event will showcase selected short films from the 5Point Film Festival, which took place this spring in Carbondale, Colo., and will also feature entries from local Boise filmmakers. A recreation fair in the square will give attendees the opportunity to engage with many of the recreation-oriented businesses, guiding services and nonprofits that call Boise home. There will also be food vendors, beverages, games, and a raffle/auction fundraiser.

Festival organizers are encouraging attendees to walk, bike or bus to the event, unless they are participating in the “van life” competition, which allows van “homeowners” to show off their wheels for the chance to win VIP access to the event. The event is also BYOLC (bring your own lawn chair or blanket) for seating in front of the 20-foot inflatable movie screen.

Admission to the event is $10 for adults, $5 for students with valid ID and free for kids under 12. Tickets are available for purchase at brownpapertickets.com, as well as on-site the day of the event.

Proceeds from the event will stay in the Northwest and will help the American Alpine Club continue its stewardship and advocacy work in the area.
