DEFOREST, Wis. (June 9, 2006) – Following years of double-digit sales increases, far-outpacing industry growth, Horizon Fitness is restructuring its management team in order to position the company for continued, long-term growth. The promotions of two key management personnel, as well as a new addition to the management team, will help to solidify the company’s growing leadership position in the fitness equipment industry.

“Over the past five years, we’ve experienced tremendous growth,” said Bob Whip, president of Horizon Fitness. “As our products, channels and operations continue to expand, so must our management team. Our new leadership group will allow us to push the boundaries in all areas of our business – from product design and development to customer service and marketing – allowing us to expand into new retail channels while strengthening our current position at sporting goods retail and specialty fitness.

As part of the management expansion, Bill Sotis has been promoted to executive vice president of sales, service and development. In his new role, he will direct the company’s sales, customer service and business development operations. He also will oversee the company’s purchasing and forecasting departments. Prior to accepting his new position, Sotis was the vice president of product and marketing.

Mike Olson has been promoted to vice president of marketing. Utilizing his experience in developing award-winning products and industry-leading sales support materials for Horizon Fitness, Olson will lead the company’s branding and marketing efforts and will oversee the industrial design group and graphics department. Prior to his promotion, Olson served as director of marketing and business development.

Finally, Clint Myers has joined the management team as senior director of product. Myers will lead product managers in executing annual plans from conceptualization to final production. In addition, Myers will be charged with developing internal engineering resources for the company. Prior to accepting this position, Meyers worked for Johnson Health Tech., the parent company of Horizon Fitness, and was based out of the company’s manufacturing center in Shanghai, China.

Under the leadership of the expanded management team, Horizon Fitness will place a greater emphasis on product development, differentiation and innovation. Product managers will be put in place to manage specific retail channels and product lines. In addition, the company will expand its marketing and branding efforts with a variety of in-store merchandising, marketing, advertising and public relations programs.

Horizon Fitness is a leading manufacturer of treadmills, ellipticals and recumbent bikes. The company’s fitness equipment is marketed under two different product lines: Horizon Series and Horizon Elite Series.
