RICHMOND, CALIFORNIA (for immediate release)- Ahnu Footwear “walks new ground” in spring 2012, re-launching the brand with exhilarating styles and fresh colors expressing the brand’s San Francisco Bay Area roots.

The re-launch bridges Ahnu’s connection to its home in the San Francisco Bay Area by providing fun and fashionable footwear to complement every aspect of an active lifestyle. New packaging and marketing material for spring ’12 reflects the San Francisco skyline which represents Ahnu’s urban to outdoor inspiration and “trails over treadmills” philosophy.

“This re-launch allowed us to approach spring ’12 with a totally new perspective on the brand and our product,” said Jacqueline Van Dine, Ahnu co-founder and brand manager. “We have blended Ahnu’s roots in performance footwear by taking inspiration from the diverse urban and natural settings found in the San Francisco Bay Area and applying a fashion forward attitude to create a fresh, innovative line of performance and lifestyle shoes.”

Founded in 2007 and part of the Deckers Outdoor Corporation family since 2009, Ahnu’s creativity is enriched by Deckers’ top quality production resources from its corporate parent. The spring ’12 product line takes Ahnu’s go-anywhere attitude to new heights with bright colors, ahead of the curve silhouettes and fashion elements in both the performance and casual categories.

Ahnu celebrates its female consumer in spring 2012 with the Jackie, a low profile A-line style in vibrant colors, diverse leathers and remarkable patterned fabrics. Ahnu’s neutral positioning system, Numentumâ„¢ Commute technology, keeps the foot balanced for all day comfort, making the Jackie an effortless choice. This versatile shoe pays tribute to today’s woman and the many roles she plays as “the Jackie of all trades”.

New outdoor performance styles from Ahnu include the women’s Orinda cross trainer and men’s Kentfield sneaker/sandal hybrid (aka the mandal). Both styles are built on Ahnu’s elite Numentumâ„¢ Traverse Technology system designed to promote the foot’s natural biomechanics for variable speed, impact and motion.
