AKU Footwear has completely revamped for 2017 with new technologies to serve the needs of the most demanding mountaineering environments while providing the comfort and styling to enjoy life between epic adventures. Additionally, a solid rep force is now enlisted to make AKU more available across the U.S.
Mammoth Lakes, CA: AKU Footwear, presented by The Mountain Lab in the USA, is pleased to launch the Spring 2017 Product Line Up. Building upon a reputation for producing high-quality mountaineering and backpacking boots that deliver exceptional comfort, AKU has refined the collection by introducing new multi-terrain styles. These new designs are based on an active life in the mountains that intersects with urban adventures. Using their new Elica Natural Stride System in all products, AKU combines exceptional technical prowess with European casual flair.
Based in Montebelluna, Italy, AKU has a global reputation for producing some the world’s best performing and most comfortable boots based in age-old Italian craftsmanship. The new Elica Natural Stride System truly up-levels the AKU last and fit that have set the standard for out-of-the-box comfort, fit and all day performance. The last is designed to mimic the rotation of heal and forefoot while walking.
This anatomic and dynamic system is consistent in every single component of the footwear, which is thoughtfully designed to support the natural stride with stability and support. A partnership with Michelin provides exclusive outsoles in many styles with a design specific for the Elica Natural Stride System and informed by an expertise in developing tread for mountain bike tires.
