AlterG, the revolutionary training and rehabilitation company, today announced the addition of a new accessory to the AlterG line, the LiftAccess. The device provides extra support for low-functioning patients by assisting them — from a wheelchair or other support — directly into the AlterG.
LiftAccess fits perfectly around the AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill with the intention of improving patient accessibility and confidence while entering and exiting the AlterG. Once the LiftAccess harness is secured to the seated patients, the machine helps them to rise effortlessly from their wheelchair and into the AlterG. Importantly, the LiftAccess also enhances the safety of care-givers and alleviates the strain of manually positioning patients into place.
“The addition of LiftAccess to the AlterG line is an immense opportunity for low-functioning users to access the machine safer, easier and with more confidence, increasing the time they can spend on it rehabilitating,†said Gabe Griego, the company’s Vice President of Marketing. “By increasing safety for both the patient and therapist, the device makes it easier for these patients to start the rehabilitation process sooner.â€
LiftAccess comes with a standard size harness, but ten additional sizes (XS to 5XL) are available to accommodate a wide array of patients. Lifting capabilities reach up to 400 pounds by way of a DC powered motor, and the system extends 35 inches beyond the rear of the treadmill, providing vertical lift from even the largest wheelchairs.
Facilities already featuring an AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill can have their AlterG retrofit with the LiftAccess for $15,000, or facilities buying a new AlterG can include the LiftAccess for $13,500.
