Ambler Hats Launches Summer Designs

Ambler Emerges from Hibernation with First Summer Line -- 2013 designs to include lightweight caps and tote bags

Canadian hat company, Ambler, today announced the launch of their 2013 Summer collection — an introductory line of casual style hats and totes for warm weather. This is the first line of its kind for the Canmore, Alberta company and includes lightweight and comfortable styles for children and adults. Ambler will debut the styles at booth number BR515 at the 2012 Outdoor Retailer Summer Market.

“We are very excited to bring the Ambler aesthetic into our first-ever summer line. The style that retailers and consumers have grown to love from our winter collections exists in the summer products, which use lighter, season-appropriate material,” said Ambler Brand Manager Eryn Willard. “These accessories can go from your favorite outdoor activity to dinner with friends, and are perfect for our customers’ mountain lifestyles.”

All new styles incorporate a lightweight hemp and organic cotton jersey, organic cotton twill and premium cotton, and include bold color palettes and fresh designs for men’s, women’s and children’s caps, knit hats and headbands. Caps are designed and made in Canada, while knit hats and headbands are hand knit in Nepal by women working in their homes. Tote bags are a new addition to the Ambler product line and are handmade in Liberia, using soft and lightweight cotton canvas and traditional lapa fabric.

The new brimmed hat styles include the versatile Treeline and the women’s Mia. Contrast stitching and snap or elastic backs are featured on almost all styles. All of the vibrant bags in the new line, including the reversible Essential, reflect the colors and culture of the country where they have been made.

“Our inspiration for the 2013 line comes from telling the stories behind each lifestyle accessory we make. We’re introducing products we want to wear and use that are made in a style that we believe in.” said Christian Rawles, Ambler Co-Owner. “The women knitting hats in their homes in Nepal and the bags made by a women’s fair trade co-op in Liberia are important to us personally. We are proud of a production model that supports women in the developing world while also being able to bring half of this season’s production back to our roots in Canada.”
