KINGSTON, NY — AmeriBag, Inc., a leader in the travel and handbag industry, is thrilled to announce that it has been awarded a trademark registration on the unique shape of its Healthy Back Bag® tote. The HBB, as it is affectionately called, is a kidney shaped bag that has become known for its unique shape. The design was created by Margery and Irwin Gaffin, and has become a popular product with an exceptional market following.
“We are pleased that the United States Patent and Trademark Office (“PTO”) has recognized the distinctive nature of the Healthy Back Bag® tote’s configuration,” states AmeriBag attorney Roger Thompson of Cohen, Pontani, Lieberman & Pavane in New York. “The PTO only rarely issues trademark registrations for product configurations, and it is gratifying to see the Healthy Back Bag® configuration receive this recognition for its innovative profile.” Mr. Thompson goes on to remind that the name Healthy Back Bag® itself is also a longstanding registered trademark of AmeriBag.
