AMK Declares March 24th – March 31st ‘Andy Knapp Week’

Diagnosed in 2003 with Stage 3b renal cell carcinoma, Knapp revealed last month that he was entering hospital to undergo a bone marrow transplant with the hope of attacking and reversing the renal cell growth. As SNEWS reported last week, not all of the medicines Knapp currently requires are covered by his insurance plan.

“Andy has been a huge supporter of ours from the beginning, but more importantly he’s an all-round great person whose adventurous spirit we at AMK have long admired and tried to emulate,” said AMK president Chris Gubera.

He continued, “It’s our hope this small gesture will help ease some of the financial burden Andy is facing and he can get back to doing what he loves most — enjoying the outdoors. So, hurry up and get well already, Andy!”
