Boise State University Campus Recreation will be hosting the Association of Outdoor Recreation and Education’s annual international conference November 2-4, 2006. AORE 2006 will be largest gathering of the membership in the 20-year history of the conference. Join us in Boise this fall.

The AORE 2006 conference will bring 500 professional educators to Boise State University for a week of high-end instructional clinics, seminars and workshops. The conference will host 17 pre/post conference workshops that will range from 4 – 60 hours in length and an additional 85 core-conference presentations. Core-conference programming is limited to registered attendees; however, the pre/post conference workshops and activities are available to non-attending participants.

Conference information and registration materials can be obtained at the conference website or by calling the AORE National Office at 208-426-5604.

Registration via MAIL and FAX are available now by downloading the appropriate .pdf and sending it off to the National Office.

AORE 2006 has received direct sponsorship support from Entre-Prises, Red Bull North America, American Alpine Institute and ASANA Packworks. The contributions from these generous companies will help make AORE 2006 a fantastic forum for learning and social networking. Please stop by their vendor booths to thank them supporting the association.

AORE is a growing organization. As we continue to grow and improve the services provided by the association or membership will continue to grow. An area of recent growth has been happening within vendor memberships. Service and manufacturing vendors are beginning to recognize AORE as a core marketplace to display their curriculum, supplies, and teaching methodologies. In addition to being able to market directly to association members through traditional channels the annual conference allows vendor members to physically demonstrate their services through teaching pre/post conference workshops and seminars.

In addition to providing high quality pre/post conference programs to AORE members and attendees, pre/post conference presenters commit to returning 30% of the workshop proceeds to the Association.
Each year the conference host works with the pre/post conference providers to secure high quality and affordable workshops that meet the needs of the association’s membership.
Therefore as you consider your options for the November conference, please build in time to support pre/post conference presentations Pre/post conference workshops are a fantastic opportunity to support the association, gain invaluable professional development experience and to consolidate you travel expenditures by doing a big one-time shop.
