Golden, CO (June 2021) – Mountainsmith, the Colorado-based company that has spent more than 40 years as a leading gear manufacturer specializing in durable goods for hiking and camping, announced today that it has named industry pro Cameron Bumsted as its new Marketing and Events Manager ahead of two crucial product launches for the company over the next nine months.
Bumsted (right) is now in his fourth year with Mountainsmith, having first joined the company as a Marketing Coordinator in June 2018. He eventually spent two years as the company’s Marketing Specialist before receiving a promotion to Marketing and Events Manager, where he’ll be in charge of maintaining the company’s brand standards and voice across all marketing materials, digital and social media properties. He’ll also help Mountinsmith facilitate new relationships with the local business community when the company christens its new headquarters in downtown Golden later this year.
Bumsted’s promotion comes at a crucial time for Mountainsmith, which will release a new line of lifestyle products in August before unveiling a variety of new backpack lines in early 2022.
“On top of all the traditional marketing and sales
tasks that come with keeping the brand running, Cam’s primary focus for the remainder of the year will be priming the market for our new pack lines next spring,” said Mountainsmith General Manager Jonathan McFarland. “Since he joined us he’s been very driven and eager to grow, and he’s come such a long way in a short period of time. He’s absolutely an invaluable asset to us.”
Originally from Exeter, New Hampshire, Bumsted attended Colorado State University, where he received his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Marketing in 2018.
“It’s going to be a busy next few months, but our biggest focus will be getting prepared to launch new backpack product lines for Spring 2022, which will mark a monumental update for us,” Bumsted said. “I’m very excited to help Mountainsmith get those packs in front of all the right people and ensure that they receive the attention they deserve, and continue to help the company any way I can as we look to the future.”
