After four successful years at the helm of Arc’teryx, President/General Manager Vincent Wauters, will be passing the leadership torch to Jon Hoerauf, who is currently the brand’s global commercial leader.
During Wauter’s tenure at Arc’teryx the brand has experienced unprecedented growth, driven by extended collaboration with existing business partners, step-changes in consumer engagement and an intense commitment to product excellence.
Under his leadership and with his support, Arc’teryx has launched major new product categories (footwear, avalanche safety), core technical advancements with Down Composite Mapping™ and an all-new Alpha SV Jacket. The brand has recently launched breakthrough innovations including the Voltair avalanche bag and Procline ski mountaineering boot, receiving multiple industry awards. Vincent also led major investments in our Vancouver-based HQ, expanded the company’s Vancouver-based manufacturing facility, as well as spearheaded global retail expansion. The brand remains committed to excellence in Design, Craftsmanship and Quality.
“It has been a life-transforming experience for me here at Arc’teryx. I am tremendously thankful for everything I have learned from this team, our agents and business partners,” noted Vincent Wauters, “I am delighted to pass the baton to Jon Hoerauf, who has served as our global commercial leader for the past four years. Jon is a long term industry veteran who brings both commercial experience, customer focus and an outstanding product-focused track record.”
Jon Hoerauf, who joined Arc’teryx in 2012, will become General Manager of Arc’teryx, reporting directly to Heikki Takala, CEO of AMER Sports.
“I look forward to assuming the leadership role at Arc’teryx. It’s energizing and rewarding to work for a premium Brand that builds amazing product which comes from amazing people! I can’t think of another Brand which aligns perfectly with my personal and professional goals.”
“It is a bittersweet moment – from the moment that Vincent arrived in Vancouver we embraced his energy and drive. His ability to quickly understand our business and culture was crucial in helping to stabilize and strengthen our Brand. He will be missed – but he will always be a part of the Arc’teryx family.”
During the past four years at Arc’teryx, Jon has built a world-class global commercial organization that drove high double-digit growth with existing commercial partners, by offering core consumers an enriched brand experience around the world. Previous to Arc’teryx, Jon spent 13 years at The North Face, in various leadership roles including sales, marketing and product.
“We are very fortunate to have such a talent bench and having been able to promote from within,” said Vincent Wauters, “This provides the highest insurance of a smooth transition and a time-proven commitment to continue driving Arc’teryx at the highest level.”
All accounts, distributors and agents can expect a seamless transition in leadership and continuity in business operations through 2016 and beyond. With that in mind, Vincent will stay with Arc’teryx until further notice to facilitate a smooth and successful transition.
