Lake Oswego, Oregon, June 5th, 2018 – Portland area handbag company Anabaglish has announced its recent rebrand from mo&co. bags. Handbags can be found under the company’s new name at specialty retail outlets and select online stores for Fall 2018. Anabaglish donates 5% of each purchase back to the local and global community to support vulnerable populations and women’s initiatives.
The Anabaglish line of ruggedly beautiful bags was born in the Pacific Northwest and is handcrafted by artisans in India using traditional techniques. Owner and founder Mia Scofield has led the business for over ten years, building a loyal retail following and becoming a favorite among Sundance Catalog Company consumers. The rebrand reflects the nature of the products for both wholesale and retail customers and allows Anabaglish to further broaden its appeal. The company provides personalized customer service and continues to offer service regarding purchases of mo&co. bags.
Anabaglish bags are constructed of natural materials including real leather, cotton or wool and hand-dyed in colors inspired by nature. Handwoven details, hand-hammered studs and antique hardware capture the casual attitude of the Pacific Northwest in vintage inspired styles reminiscent of eras past.
The product line includes totes, shoulder bags, crossbody bags, clutches and backpacks designed with an eye to both beauty and practicality. No two handcrafted Anabaglish bags are exactly alike.
Anabaglish is committed to ethical, fair trade business practices in the production of their handbags. Factory workers and artisans in India receive fair wages and work under safe, comfortable conditions. Scofield and her team have worked closely with the same factory in Delhi, India and many of its workers for over a decade, developing a close, personal working relationship reflected in the quality of the Anabaglish bag line.
“All of our handbag designs are a team effort,” says Scofield. “We work together to create bags that are beautifully made and useful for a long time to come, as well as a good value price. Our rebranding has provided an exciting opportunity to capture the spirit, quality and beauty of our bags in a fresh, new way.”
Scofield was inspired to launch a second career in the handbag industry after working as a high school teacher and counselor. Her leadership and energy are integral to the company’s mission “Be always kind and true.”
