Salt Lake City, Utah, Outdoor Retailer Summer Market Booth 40054 – With a vision to evolve into a single source of full-spectrum professional services, Ascent Advising today announced the formation of the Ascent Advising Associates program. The Associate Program will bring an expanded expertise to existing and new clients to meet more of their needs–more effectively and seamlessly over a longer period of time. Ascent Advising Associates now offers a service portfolio including executive level company/leadership consulting; product design; team/internal processes; and product launch/promotion and information campaigns.

Expanding a single consultant practice to a dynamic group of professional resources specializing in but not limited to the outdoor industry includes a long-term relationship with a goal to “teach people to fish rather than tossing them a fish,” explains Dave Bartholomew, founder of Ascent Advising and former CEO of Mountain Safety Research. “We teach independence yet assist clients in each step of growth, adjusting to changes to their needs, changes of their market channel, or emerging opportunities.”

“It’s great to collaborate with a team that has worked with significant industry leaders to grow their business or launch new initiatives. I like the idea of integrating business planning, brand strategy and public relations to take clients to a new level of success,” says Jim Trombly, principal of Inspiration Lab, a brand and product strategy company, and new Ascent Advising Associate, based in Seattle.

“Our work guides clients with new or existing businesses through the same tools used by Fortune 500 companies yet brings our outdoor ethic into the practice of teambuilding, communication tools for the bottom line, and new media tools,” says Patricia (Pat) Smith of OnTarget Public Relations, a new Ascent Advising Associate based in Denver.

The team will work individually or collaborate as client needs require with programs specifically tailored. The virtual agency approach includes additional team members to respond to client needs.

Launched at the Outdoor Industry Summer Market August 8, 2008, the Ascent Advising Associates team will be located at Booth 40054. Bartholomew has also published a collection of Adages from Ascent; he will sign a limited number of free copies August 9 and 10 at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The primary target market for Ascent Advising services will be assessing and improving business processes, efficiency of operations, adding green practices (to reflect sustainable financial and environmental outcomes), effective teamwork and promotional program updates.
