Atlas Racing Team Dominates 2008 US National Snowshoe Championships

-Men’s and Women’s Senior Teams Grab Top Spots in The 10k at Snowbasin Resort, Prove Team Atlas is Fastest US Snowshoe Team-

Snowbasin, UT. (March 13, 2008) – The Atlas Racing Team dominated the US National Snowshoe Championships at Utah’s Snowbasin Resort last weekend, with eight of the Racing Team’s women and five of the men placing in the top 10 in the two heats. Of the top 15 in the men’s heat, seven were competing for Atlas Racing. It was an impressive performance all around, and confirmed once again the Atlas Racing Team’s claim to the title of fastest snowshoe team in the United States.

“I was overjoyed by the performance of the Atlas Team,” said team captain Adam Chase. “It looked like a swarm of bees out there, what with all the black and yellow Atlas jerseys up front on Sunday. Four of us had raced the XTERRA Winter World Championships the day before and Sarah McMahan had done (and won) the snowshoe dash for cash on Friday, so we weren’t necessarily fresh for Sunday. That didn’t seem to bother Keri Nelson, but I think it took a bit of a toll on Greg Krause and Ross McMahan. I was painfully aware that it did on me, especially when it came to running up the first hill on Sunday morning! “
