Seattle, Wash. (December 22, 2014) – Atlas Snow-Shoe Company is pleased to announce its partnership with the Pentathlon des Neiges as part of the 2015 World Snowshoe Championships. Hosted by the International Snowshoeing Federation (ISSF), the 2015 World Snowshoe Championships, which takes place on January 31st, 2015, will be showcased alongside the Snow Pentathlon – a one-of-a-kind multisport event that comprises ice skating, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, running, and biking. This multi-day winter festival will bring together the world’s finest winter sport athletes on the historical Plains of Abraham in Québec City, Canada, beginning January 31st and running through March 1st, 2015.

Founded in 2010, by the snowshoeing associations of USA, Japan and Switzerland, the ISSF serves as the international governing body for the sport of snowshoe racing. The ISSF is committed to organizing and presenting the sport on a global level, including the annual World Snowshoe Championships. Atlas has supported the ISSF for several years as presenting sponsor of the race, stepping up in 2015 as a partner of the broader Pentathlon des Neiges event in conjunction with Presenting Sponsor status of the 2015 World Snowshoe Championships.

The unique Pentathlon des Neiges is one of the biggest winter multisport events in the world. “The [World Snowshoe Championships] will serve as the demonstration sport of the 2015 Quebec Winter World Masters Games,” states François Calletta, General Manager, Groupe Pentathlon. “It’s a spectacular event in an historical city, presented by Atlas Snow-Shoe.”

The Pentathlon partnership affords Atlas the opportunity for event branding throughout Quebec by means of logo visibility via event collateral, as well as online exposure. In addition, Atlas will have giveaways and demo snowshoes for both competing athletes and spectators to use. Engagement in this event allows Atlas to land product on the feet of its core market. “The fact that this event is a large draw in a very visible urban environment in Quebec City, is a hugely appealing opportunity for Atlas,” states ChrisMcCullough, Global Brand Manager at K2 Sports.
