BOULDER, CO (August 19, 2014) – The new line of Sea to Summit sleeping mats continues to garner accolades: Sea to Summit is honored to have received the “Best In Show” award from Gear Junkie and “Best New Gear” award from Gear Institute during the North American debut at the Summer Outdoor Retailer trade show.

The new collection of sleeping mats, featuring 3 series and 22 different models was recognized for its comfort, easy inflation, dual chamber design, and functionality.

“After the overwhelmingly positive response the mats received at the OutDoor tradeshow in Friedrichshafen, and receiving the Industry Award, our team was equally thrilled to watch the reception of the mats’ debut here in the US. It is an amazing testament to the dedication of the Sea to Summit team to see a product come to market with such excitement,” explains Shelley Dunbar, Marketing Director at Sea to Summit.

Consumers who demand the best night’s sleep possible will be able to buy the award-winning mats beginning January 2015. A few key features and technologies universal to the entire line of sleeping mats include:

Air Sprung Cells™ that function the same way as internally pocket coil mattresses do. Each cell deforms independently, so the mattress conforms to body shape and feels softer and more comfortable with body contact area due to an even dispersion of pressure.

Patent-pending, multi-function valve allows for easy inflation, rapid deflation, and a fine-tuned pressure adjustment without multiple, bulky valves.

Extruded TPU Coating lamination process applied to the 40D fabric in the construction of our mattresses. This unique-to-our-market lamination technique virtually eliminates the possibility of de-lamination or weak spots. We have also added an anti-microbial treatment to the TPU layer, preventing the growth of mold inside the mattress which can be caused by internal moisture from mouth inflation. Beyond the durability improvement, the beauty of this TPU technology is how quiet this material is in use.

Sea to Summit also employs Thermolite® and Exkin Platinum® technologies in their insulated offerings to provide an even more comfortable sleeping mat in cooler conditions.

For more information about the new sleeping mat collection, Sea to Summit has produced a video on the collection as well as an online lookbook offering full product specs.
