Backpacker National Parks Centennial Tour Appoints Darby Communications as PR Agency of Record

Asheville, NC – July 13, 2015- Backpacker Magazine, adivision of Active Interest Media, Inc., is proud to announce their partnership with Darby Communications to promote the National Parks Centennial Tour. As Backpacker National Parks Centennial Tour’s agency of record, Darby Communications will handle all media relations for the ten-month tour, coordinating publicityopportunities that showcase Backpacker’s allegiance to our national parks.

The tour, a partnership with Subaru and the National Parks Foundation, will showcase the beauty of our national parksthrough storytelling by two young adventurers, Aidan Lynn-Klimenko and Madison Perrins, also known as theVanajeros. This adventuresome duowill travel through over thirty of America’s national parks in a 2015 Subaru Outback provided by Subaru of America.Along the way, they will share their experiences and travel tipsin an effort to encourage more Americans to experience these incredible places.

“We are eager to launch the tour, start sharing thestoriesand motivate people to plan their next trip to a national park,” said Backpacker Event Marketing Manager Caitlyn Pepper. “We want to inspire Americans of all ages to understand the importance of preserving these beautiful public spaces for future generations.”

Backpacker launched theNational Parks Centennial Tour recently in Rocky Mountain National Park and is currently exploringGrand Teton National Park located in northwestern Wyoming. Each week, the team will visit one to two parks with public appearances in between.
