Black Diamond Equipment Ltd., a global leader in the climbing and freeride ski markets, announces another series of awards for upcoming Fall 2010 winter products and Spring 2011 launches.
“The exhaustive R&D process, lab time, field and real life testing continues to benefit BD in terms of earning these accolades,” explains Black Diamond Equipment CEO Peter Metcalf. “Winning awards conveys our team’s ability to understand consumer demand and build relevant, thoughtfully inspired products whether they are biners, packs, skis, boots or headlamps.”
Coming on the heels of the recent Outside Magazine Gear of the Year Award for the Infinity 50 backpack, and the Top Gear Award for 2010 from Explore Magazine for the Infinity 60; Black Diamond carries that momentum forward with Editor’s Choice Awards from Backcountry Magazine for the new Quadrant Efficient Alpine Touring Boot, the Women’s Starlet Efficient Ski, the Women’s Stiletto telemark boot, and the Zealot Power Ski.
Additionally, at the recent OutDoor Friedrichshafen tradeshow, Black Diamond won a coveted Gold Medal Award for the Spring 2011 GridLock Locking Carabiner and the Award Medal for the new Epic Ascent Pack.
“Coming home from the OutDoor Show with a Gold Medal is an honor,” comments Thomas Hodel of Black Diamond Europe. “Over 400 products from 28 countries entered this competition with only eight winning gold.”
