New Beal Rope Wins Prestigious Award

July 12, 2013 – The new Beal Gully 7.3mm won the Gold OutDoor Industry Award 2013 at the OutDoor Show in Germany. The Beal Gully was one of 11 products to receive this prestigious award.

The honor of this award comes directly from the mouth of the judges, “The Beal Gully double rope is a great product: although it has a small diameter, it is ideally suited for use as a high rope and offers climbers a maximum degree of safety.”

The Beal Gulley 7.3mm Unicore is the lightest half-rope on the market, weighing only 36 grams per meter. It is also certified as a twin rope. The extremely lightweight and low impact (7.2kN as a double rope) attributes of the rope make the Gully 7.3 the ideal rope for ice climbing, mountaineering, and the most demanding terrain.

Like all other thin double ropes in Beal’s collection, the Gully 7.3 benefits from the reliability and additional safety that the UNICORE and Golden Dry technologies provide. By utilizing UNICORE, the sheath and core of the Gully are bonded together to eliminate sheath slippage and to reduce rope shrinkage. With the Golden Dry treatment, the Gully’s sheath and core have been treated to become highly water and abrasion resistant.
