Ski Press Media, Inc., announced today that longtime publishing executive and snowsport’s industry expert Ben Warner has been named Publisher of Ski Press USA and Vice President of Global Business Development. Effective immediately, Warner will oversee all the day-to-day business dealings of Ski Press USA, www.Skipressworld.com <http://www.skipressworld.com> , www.SkipressTV.com <http://www.skipresstv.com> and the Snow Press Show Daily. “I couldn’t be more excited to join the Ski Press Media team and be back in the snowsports industry,†Warner said from the company’s new US head offices in southern California. “The Ski Press team consists of passionate skiers who combine their love of the sport with creating innovative media. The company has created informational links that are vital to the snowsports consumer as well as a clear benefit to Ski Press Media’s many valued industry partners.†Warner has more than 16 years of experience building media business in the action sports and outdoor lifestyle markets. He comes to Ski Press from niche publishing leader Fancy Publications. Before that Warner was Senior Group Publisher and Vice President of Sales for Primedia’s Action Sports Group (including POWDER and BIKE magazines). Warner has developed countless integrated media programs and custom published products. He has sold more than $25 million in advertising revenue. He developed his sales expertise and marketing knowledge working with national blue chip brands such as Volkswagen, Honda, Red Bull, Oakley, Salomon and Trek. Warner’s immediate goals are to build on Ski Press Media’s well-earned reputation as an innovative leader in outdoor publishing and to further establish the distinct identity of Ski Press USA. “My primary focus will be to clearly distinguish Ski Press USA from its Canadian parent company; to augment the company’s unique print and Internet assets; and to deliver effective, measurable marketing solutions to advertisers targeting skiers who do not read current US ski media.†Warner added, “While there are several great magazines in the market, many have lost sight of their advertisers’ needs; that makes them incapable of delivering the ROI required by today’s competitive pace.†Ski Press Media, Inc. CEO Jean-Marc Blais said that Warner’s hiring “marks a pivotal point in the development of Ski Press USA and in the US media division’s new infrastructure. “The US division of Ski Press Media — including Ski Press USA, www.Skipressworld.com <http://www.skipressworld.com> , www.SkipressTV.com, and the Snow Press Show Daily — has developed to such a degree that it needs the fulltime attention and leadership of an experienced, visionary individual with a genuine passion for the snowsports industry. That person is Ben Warner.†Blais continued, “By placing the management of our US brand in his capable hands, I feel that we’re expertly positioned to move Ski Press into the future.†Warner joins a management team that includes Company CEO and President Jean-Marc Blais, Group Publisher Anne-Marie Boissonnault, US Editorial Director Peter Kray, Associate Publisher Conrad Klefos and Editor-in-Chief Jules Older. Ski Press Media, Inc. is the largest independent publisher of ski media in the world and the number-one source of news for active skiers and ski industry professionals.
