New construction reduces weight and pack size, improves durability
Steamboat Springs, Colo. (May 6, 2016) – Big Agnes®, the award-winning manufacturer of tents, sleeping bags and pads, announces it will launch its all new, redesigned and improved Air Core Ultra, Insulated Air Core Ultra and Q-Core SLX™ air pads. Featuring improved construction, and a precise lamination process these pads are lighter, more durable and deliver a dramatically smaller packed size.
“Our Air Core and Q-Core pads have made a name for themselves through the years so we didn’t want to change the line until a breakthrough technology allowed us to vastly improve them,” says Bill Gamber, Big Agnes co-founder and president. “Through changes in process and materials, we are able to make a significantly better line of pads.”
The all new Air Core Ultra and Insulated Air Core Ultra offer more comfort than before thanks to a smoother surface and added stability due to a new internal construction process. Precise lamination offers tougher, more durable construction, while also reducing weight and pack size. The pads include heat reflective technology to help retain heat. The Insulated Air Core Ultra includes high quality synthetic insulation for added warmth. All new pads also have an improved air valve for rapid inflation and deflation.
The Q-Core SLX™ ups the ante on quilted comfort in the backcountry. Redesigned offset I-beams create improved multi-directional support and stability, while new materials reduce weight and increase durability over its predecessor.
The Air Core Ultra ($69.95), Insulated Air Core Ultra ($99.95) and Q-Core SLX ($159.95) are available now at select retailers and online at www.bigagnes.com.
