Big Agnes Expands Distribution Capabilities and Hires Industry Veteran to Run New DC

Howard Peterson hired to manage operations at a new Salt Lake Distribution Center
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo (Nov. 22, 2016) – Big Agnes announces distribution expansion plans designed to help the company meet growing demand for its products domestically and internationally and to decrease shipping time and increase efficiency. Plans include a second domestic warehouse facility and third party fulfillment centers in Canada and Europe. The company recently announced its move into a new, larger headquarters building in Steamboat Springs.
The company will open a second distribution center outside of Salt Lake City, UT in December. To help service international accounts, Big Agnes will open third party distribution facilities in Canada and Rotterdam, Netherlands. These moves will increase the number of employment opportunities for the company both in Steamboat Springs and Salt Lake City.
Howard Peterson has been hired to manage operations at the new Salt Lake City facility. Peterson is a seasoned outdoor and sporting goods industry executive with a consistent track record of developing strong teams, increasing productivity and managing costs. He has worked in various management capacities including distribution, manufacturing and logistics roles at brands such as The Coleman Company, Smith Sport Optics and Quality Bicycle Products.
