Big Agnes® Inc., maker of innovative sleeping bags, pads and tents, has been awarded Explore Magazine’s 2010 “Top Gear” award for the company’s new Lynx Pass 4 tent. Awarded products are selected by Explore editors and a consultative panel of freelance testers whose primary goal is to offer insight on innovative new products that they think consumers will be most excited about in 2010.

“We are honored to receive the Explore award for the Lynx Pass 4 tent,” says Big Agnes co-founder, Bill Gamber. “Being recognized before the summer camping season for a product that just launched will not only help us gain exposure and recognition for the Lynx Pass 4, but for our entire new Lynx Pass tent line. If you compare the weights, prices and features of the Lynx Pass 4 with our competition, we are certain that is one of the best values for backpackers and campers on the market.”

The Lynx Pass 4 tent features more combined square footage than most tents in their class, featuring 57.5 square feet plus 17/17 square feet with the vestibule. Its modern design features steep walls which extend the generous square footage into a genuine living space; there is enough space for two adults to sit up without rubbing shoulders or touching the walls of the tent. The tent’s vestibule is extraordinarily large, not just providing storm protection or gear storage, but also extending livable and useable space. Most impressive, the Lynx Pass 4 tent is fully featured with 4 high vents, pockets throughout, two extra large oval doors, breathable nylon sidewalls and a generous use of mesh in the ceiling. The Lynx Pass 4 weighs 7lbs 9oz and retails for $299.95. Big Agnes’ new Lynx Pass tent series will be available at specialty retailers this month.

Named for a peak in the nearby Mt. Zirkel Wilderness, Big Agnes®, Inc. is located in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, and produces award-winning sleeping bags, pads and tents. For more information, visit www.bigagnes.com or call 1-877-554-8975.
