Big Mountain Battles Draw Crowds in Killington and Stevens Pass
The fifth annual Big Mountain Battle at Steven’s Pass also went off without a hitch with five-time winner Matt Kuharic and his new partner, Eben Sargent, taking first place.

Team Phoenix’s Jeffrey Hart and Robert McMullen dominated first place in the Advanced Open Class at Killington’s Big Mountain Battle with a time of 1:53:40. The pair won free entry to the final Battle in the Bowls in Aspen/Snowmass on March 30.
Team Tubing Goomby’s Brandon Ture and Travis Hopkins nailed second with a time of 2:03:14 while Team Church of Divine Chairlift’s Matt Rybecky and Andrew Rybecky scored third with a time of 2:06:43.
“Bluebird skies met competitors who lined up early Saturday morning to compete in Killington’s Big Mountain Battle,” said Marc Campbell, the organizer behind Helly Hansen’s Big Mountain Battle series. “The crowd was stoked to battle it out on the slopes for the top spots.”

Their team, Stevens Dreamin, earned free entry to the final Battle in the Bowls in Aspen/Snowmass on March 30 with a time of 1:13:01.
Team Honey Badgers’ Jeremy Butzaff and Bill Barclay took second with a time of 1:30:39 while Team Powder Pounders’ Aron Garavaglia and Ian Garavaglia took third with a time of 1:30:46.
