bigtruck Introduces Limited-Edition Capsule Collection with Giro


The Tahoe-area lifestyle brand lends design inspiration to a special helmet and goggle collection with snowsports leader

Truckee, California (January 2017): Today, bigtruck®, the Lake Tahoe-based lifestyle brand known for its premium headwear has just announced a new collaborative Winter 2017/18 capsule collection with Giro – the leader in progressive head protection and snow sports optics.

Featuring a special edition Ledge MIPS Helmet with patented MIPS impact protection, and Onset & Field Goggles with Giro’s new snow-optimized VIVID lenses, this special capsule collection has evolved from Giro’s 30-year history of collaborating with artists and influencers who share a passion for free-thinking and the outdoors. For this capsule collection, bigtruck® has developed exclusive artwork for each limited-edition helmet and goggle lockup, and will also be releasing a limited number of premium co-branded Giro x bigtruck® hats utilizing the same design inspiration and color-blocking.

In addition to the new MIPS technology showcased on the Ledge Helmet, the bigtruck® goggle capsule will be taking advantage of Giro’s all-new VIVID lenses, developed in partnership with Zeiss to boost contrast, reduce eyestrain, and improve rider reaction time in snow environments.

The clean, matte surface on the helmet shell and goggle straps provided bigtruck® designers ample canvas to utilize a set of exclusive sublimated prints of an Icelandic winterscape and a Costa Rica sunset. Each piece in the capsule is finished with elements that mimic design hallmarks and color-blocking found on bigtruck’s® signature hat line. The capsule collection is currently slated for release in August 2017 at select retailers and available on giro.com & bigtruck.com Fall 2017.
