Allied Cycle Works Launches ECHO

June 3, 2021 – Bentonville, Arkansas – American carbon frame manufacturer, Allied Cycle Works, launches ECHO, a versatile allroad frameset. With the ability to change geometry and adjust tire clearance, the ECHO can go from road racer one day to gravel crusher the next, and vice versa. It’s one bike that delivers two distinguished rides.

The ECHO isn’t an everyday racing beast. It’s actually two everyday racing beasts, each with a distinct personality. At the heart of ECHO’s duality is its ability to transform from a road race thoroughbred to an allroad/gravel dominator via flip chips at the dropouts.

At the heart of the ECHO is the ability to change from a true road race thoroughbred to a more versatile allroad/gravel bike through the use of flip chips at the dropouts. The ECHO’s eccentric chips and corresponding dropout design allow the rider to change the geometry, effectively changing the chainstay length and fork length by 1cm to optimize the geometry for road riding with up to 30mm tires and gravel riding when using up to 40mm tires. This means the ECHO can go from crit racing one day to gravel racing the next with nothing more than 15 minute change.

Additional details include the fully integrated ECHO Stem system designed in tandem with the fork to completely conceal the cables while still using a standard headset, allowing the rider to easily swap stem lengths, and works with a growing list of handlebars designed with integrated cables in mind. The system is the simplest and most user-friendly on the market today. This is achieved by running the cables into a channel on top of the stem which is concealed by a combination faceplate, top cap and through the steerer tube. The headset adjustment is moved from the traditional position at the top of the stem to a threaded portion on the bottom of the stem that effectively increases the steerer clamp length to provide headset preload, much like a threaded headset. The Echo stem comes in five sizes from 90-130mm in 10mm increments and is a -6 degree. Like all things done by Allied, the stem is made here in our Bentonville factory.
