Brompton Releases SS21 Bike Bag Collection in Collaboration with Liberty Fabrics

NEW YORK (June 29, 2021) – Brompton Bicycle, the London-based manufacturer of the iconic Brompton folding bike, today announced the availability of the Brompton SS21 Made with Liberty Fabric Metropolis Collection. This fresh summer collection of Brompton bags, many with features that make them the perfect accessory for adding form and function to Brompton folding bikes, are crafted from the iconic Made with Liberty Fabric Metropolis print that captures the infectious spirit of London.
In 1875, Liberty Fabric’s adventurous founder, Arthur Lasenby, created a pioneering design house on Soho’s Regent Street. Across the city, precisely 100 years later, Brompton bicycle inventor, Andrew Ritchie, made his first-ever folding bike. Their legacy of ambition and innovation lives on today with the latest line of products.
This season’s design, named Metropolis, is an ode to London, the city both brands are synonymous with. The print draws from the towering skyscrapers with a bold geometric pattern and 3D shapes featured across four of Brompton’s most popular bag silhouettes, the Tote, Basket, Backpack and Zip Pouch.
Specially selected from Liberty Fabric’s 50,000-piece archive, all material used is printed in Italy on Polyester fabric, with a highly water-resistant coating, perfectly built to meet the demands of a Brompton’s day-to-day use in the city. Every bag is a weatherproof workhorse that takes the weight when the bike is folded and rolling or heading through the streets at a pace.
