Stockholm, Sweden (September 1, 2021) – Following the launch of CAKE’s previous platforms – the high-performance Kalk and the powerful utility machine Ösa – the Swedish leader in lightweight electric motorcycles is proud to announce its third platform: Makka. It’s a family of light and convenient urban shuttles for short-haul commercial transportation and commuting needs. These new electric mopeds further define CAKE’s ambition of making two-wheeled electric vehicles accessible to everyone, while constantly pushing the envelope of performance, durability, and relevancy in line with the company’s mission to inspire towards a zero-emission lifestyle.
The Makka is CAKE’s most agile and compact bike to date. It is a commuting wonder, a lightweight, traffic crushing convenience machine with category-leading performance built for an active and modern lifestyle. Whether you are finding the fastest way to the office or cruising towards your next outdoor adventure – the new Makka takes you places. And thanks to a large selection of racks, mounts, and accessories, riders can bring all their gear for work and play. The Makka is the ultimate solution for everyday mobility needs.
“With cities and urban mobility changing faster than expected with cleaner and more efficient solutions, we have been eager to share the Makka: an urban short-haul vessel, compact in size and price, reaching a wide audience in the process of deciding what their future means of transportation will be. I’m proud to introduce the CAKE urban shuttle, Makka.” says Stefan Ytterborn, CAKE CEO and Founder.
The Makka Flex is the most versatile, with top speeds reaching 28 miles per hour and a range of up to 30 miles. It weighs a scant 132 pounds, rolls on knobby tires, and comes standard with a rear cargo rack. Other features include a foot board and a convenient step-through frame. A bevy of accessories, including a passenger seat, will also be available so riders can outfit their Makka to best suit their needs.
The Makka Range has a lower maximum speed of 15 miles per hour, but greater range than the Flex: up to 35 miles. Also weighing only 132 pounds and boasting the same accoutrements and accessories as the Flex, it’s the perfect tool for moving about densely packed urban environments.
The all-new Makka comes in white or grey and is street legal in both the U.S. and Europe. However, only the Makka Flex will be available stateside. It’s currently available for pre-orders, with home delivery worldwide. Pre-order now at ridecake.com
