Boulder, CO and Newbury Park, CA (May 27, 2021) — Giant Bicycles and Liv Cycling are partnering with PeopleForBikes and Ride Spot to present the World Bicycle Day Challenge — a 10-day campaign inspiring people to get out and ride. World Bicycle Day is Thursday, June 3, 2021.
World Bicycle Day is recognized by the United Nations as a way to celebrate the solutions bikes can offer for sustainability, liveable communities, health, and inclusion. In honor of the 4th annual World Bicycle Day, Giant Bicycles and Liv Cycling are collaborating with Ride Spot to encourage everyone to get out on their bikes six times between June 3 and June 12, 2021. The first 400 people to complete the World Bicycle Day Challenge will receive a themed prize pack from Giant Bicycles and Liv Cycling, including a cycling cap, mask, tech t-shirt, and water bottle.
“We share the pure joy of riding bikes with our partners at PeopleForBikes,” said Kara Keeley, USA Marketing Manager for Giant Group USA. “World Bicycle Challenge is the perfect opportunity to celebrate or rediscover cycling, to connect with and enjoy riding in your community.”
Riders can get started today by downloading the Ride Spot app, swiping up on the Challenges tab on the home screen and tapping “Join Challenge” on the World Bicycle Day Challenge. After joining the Challenge, all rides recorded on Ride Spot between June 3 – 12 will contribute towards the goal of six rides.
“We are seeing so many people re-engage with biking, and Ride Spot is the perfect tool to help new and returning riders stay on their bikes for years to come,” said Jose Maldonado, Vice President of Marketing and Communications at PeopleForBikes. “Our new “Challenge” features allow companies to reward riders for reaching frequency and mileage-based goals, providing a major incentive to keep riders on their bikes.”
