POC is releasing its new Fall/Winter cycling collection, which features a host of brand-new pieces that will prolong and enhance the mountain bike, gravel or road season. Highlights include the award-winning Consort Dungaree, which will become an MTB rider’s best friend, the Rouse Shirt and the Mantle Thermal Hoodie, which are equally happy off the bike as on it.
The collection also features an array of products for the road or gravel rider keen to extend the season or ride through the winter. The Radiant Jersey will be the perfect piece to provide warmth and protection from the elements, allowing riders to explore further and deeper into the season.
Commenting on the new collection, head of product at POC, Oscar Huss said – “We are delighted to introduce our specific Fall/Winter cycling collection, especially as it has been born out of a great deal of product innovation and testing. We know that some of the best days on a bike come when you’re out in the worst conditions, and we wanted to create a collection that would give more riders the security and inspiration to take on the elements, to get the best out of their riding and the seasons.”
The Fall/Winter collection covers both mountain-bike and road/gravel riding and spearheading this season’s collection is the exceptional and award-winning Consort Dungaree. Effortlessly managing bad weather conditions, the Consort has been created to banish the start or end of a season and replace it with year-round riding. It is waterproof, extremely breathable, flexible, ride specific and reinforced with Cordura® for durability and abrasion resistance.
Equally at home in varied conditions is the brand-new Mantle Thermal Hoodie, a technical garment for mountain biking that naturally fits off-bike. It will take the chill off colder days and is made from a flexible and insulative recycled double-layer thermal polyamide. It has a durable outer for extra protection and a fluorocarbon-free DWR treatment to ward off poor weather. It will also come in specific Women’s and Men’s versions.
Another brand-new addition to POC’s line-up is the technical and advanced Rouse Shirt. Constructed in a single layer twill from a highly durable polyamide, the Rouse includes stretch properties to enhance freedom of movement and features a fluorocarbon free DWR treatment to manage showers. Designed with a looser relaxed fit, Rouse can be used over a base layer, and the sleeves allow elbow protectors to be worn underneath.
Continuing the material and technical innovation is the Signal All-Weather Jacket. Constructed using a lightweight, durable fabric with Ripstop protection, this waterproof and breathable jacket can be used by mountain bike and gravel/adventure riders alike and is easily folded down into its own pocket and attached to a bike. The Signal comes in both Women’s and Men’s versions and what is unique, setting it apart from other jackets, is the integrated technology. A RECCO® reflector enhances your searchability in remote areas, and the twICEme® NFC Medical ID chip can provide medical teams with essential information if a rider is unconscious and unable to communicate. Neither technology needs a battery or a network, but they are always on hand when a rider needs them.
The new Oseus VPD back and chest protection family will offer riders a new choice for versatile and exceptionally comfortable mountain bike protection. The objective was to create back and chest protection with our exceptional VPD material and make it as seamless and practical as possible. An example is the inclusion of rear back pockets, which will allow a rider to store food, clothing and tubes and a middle pocket also benefits from a purposefully designed extended back protector, allowing sharper items, like tools, to be stored without fear of impact.
The Radiant Jersey leads the way for the road/gravel collection and takes its place neatly amongst the existing winter riding collection, in particular, the Radiant will be the perfect complement to the Thermal tights, thermal booties and gloves and the Ventral Tempus. The Radiant has been developed to maximise the off-season and winter training and features a brushed thermal fabric for warmth. Keeping the heat inside, the breathable fabric prevents overheating. A fluorocarbon-free DWR treatment gives protection from light rain showers keeping the outside, outside. Reflective logos and the choice of a high visibility option enhance a rider’s visibility and improve safety on the road.
Other seasonal highlights
The Fall/Winter collection has also focused on extending the same opportunities to female and male riders. There is an array of new products, such as the exceptionally robust and technical Women’s and Men’s Ardour All-Weather Pants, focused on mountain bike riding and developed to manage variable conditions. The Pants are highly waterproof and feature reinforced Cordura® zones around the seat and below the knee to ensure dryness and abrasion protection when riding in the wet. The new Women’s and Men’s Pure Long Sleeve Jersey is an excellent complement for the drier days.
The Women’s and Men’s Reform Enduro Jerseys and Tees are a new environmentally conscious addition to the collection. A sustainable focus is critical and balances perfectly with exceptional performance and fit constructed on the foundation of recycled materials with remarkable wicking capacity.
Another noteworthy addition and developed to manage everything a mountain biker could throw at them are the Bastion Shorts. Exceptionally breathable and completely waterproof, they are ideal for any wet weather conditions, featuring taped seams and a 3-layer fabric with a 15 000mm water column and a moisture vapor permeability of 30 000gsm/24hr to keep a rider as dry from the inside as outside.
The product line will also be launched and on display at Sea Otter Classic 10/7-10/10/21 in Monterey, CA.
