AUSTIN, Texas – Aug. 18, 2021 – Inc. magazine announced that woom bikes USA is number 1,198 on its annual Inc. 5000 list, the most prestigious ranking of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies. Companies on the 2021 Inc. 5000 are ranked according to percentage revenue growth from 2017 to 2020. This is the third consecutive Inc. 5000 recognition for woom, which boasts a stunning three-year revenue growth of 404 percent.
“We are extremely honored to once again earn a place among the Inc. 5000 list,” said Mathias Ihlenfeld, CEO of woom bikes USA. “To earn this recognition once is a huge achievement in itself, but to now be recognized three times in a row is truly incredible. It’s a fitting testament to the hard work, dedication, and passion of the entire woom team as we continue to grow and bring the joy of cycling to more children and families throughout North America, and the world.”
woom has disrupted the kids’ bike category in North America over the past seven years, as both the fastest-growing kids’ bike brand and the largest direct-to-consumer brand in the space. The company delivers a vast lineup of award-winning, thoughtfully designed bikes with kid-specific geometry and componentry, which are 40 percent lighter than conventional kids’ bikes.
Innovation lies at the core of woom’s DNA, and has been a key component in the company’s tremendous growth rate, along with its direct-to-consumer strategy, premium product offerings, and best-in-class customer experience. As the company continues to push the envelope with its product development, it has revamped its entire ORIGINAL woom bike series lineup for 2021, and this spring launched its first electric bike for kids, the UP.
In its quest to become the global market leader in children’s bicycles, the brand announced last month the merger of woom Europe and woom USA, which will double woom’s workforce globally. The merger will also optimize and enhance product innovation and evolve the company’s supply chain and manufacturing capabilities.

“The 2021 Inc. 5000 list feels like one of the most important rosters of companies ever compiled,” says Scott Omelianuk, editor-in-chief of Inc. “Building one of the fastest-growing companies in America in any year is a remarkable achievement. Building one in the crisis we’ve lived through is just plain amazing. This kind of accomplishment comes with hard work, smart pivots, great leadership, and the help of a whole lot of people.”
