BioLite Unveils New Energy Lineup at Summer Outdoor Retailer
– BioLite Spring 2016 line grows to include new lighting and a bold entry into solar –

Brooklyn, NY, August 4, 2015 –BioLite Inc, an innovator in off-grid energy, has announced the newest additions to its growing line of outdoor energy products that will be on display at the 2015 Outdoor Retailer Summer Market Trade Show at booth #BR539. These new products reinforce BioLite’s growth as a personal scale energy company with powerful, user-centric designs in cooking, lighting, and charging.
Leading the charge is the PowerLight Mini (MSRP $44.95), a credit card-sized rechargeable lantern and power bank that can follow its user wherever they go, from camping to bike commuting.
The 135-lumen PowerLight Mini provides a hands-free alternative to headlamps and bulkier lanterns. The ultra-slim clippable profile features BioLite’s edge-lit technology and provides even white light, making it perfect for both functional tasks and social interaction at night. The 1300mAh rechargeable battery provides a boost to phones and other gear when users are mobile and need a quick hit of power.
“The versatile PowerLight Mini is designed to light and power life on the go. We created it for a growing group of consumers who don’t look at their gear as siloed usage occasions, but instead seek tools that can fit into their lives in an everyday, fluid way,” said Jonathan Cedar, BioLite Co-founder and CEO.
The company is also introducing the SolarPanel 5($59.95) and 5+ ($79.95), BioLite’s first offering in the solar category. The panels deliver 5 watts of high-efficiency, monocrystalline electricity generation and onboard battery storage in the 5+. BioLite’s innovative design helps users get the most from the sun with the Optimized Sun System: an integrated sun dial and 360-degree kickstand that enables users to orient panels for maximum efficiency in any setting.

“Solar is a natural space for BioLite to service but we wanted to ensure that we were bringing useful innovation to the category,” said Cedar, “We watched how users were interacting with existing solar panels and found that on average folks received 30-40% less power than they could due to improper alignment with the sun and difficulty propping the panels at the optimal angle. We created our patent pending sun dial and kickstand features to address these needs while stripping away unnecessary material with a new bonding method that allows us to give the user a slim, packable panel that weighs just 12 ounces.”
Rounding out BioLite’s cooking line is the BioLite CookStove (MSRP $99.95) a streamlined version of BioLite’s flagship CampStove at a pricepoint that creates an approachable entry to gas-like cooking from wood.

“We designed for a camper who wants to leave gas canisters behind and enjoy the benefits of a smokeless portable campfire,” said Cedar, “The CookStove provides up to 30 hours of clean burning from a rechargeable powerpack, making it a perfect choice for up to a week-long trip where a warm meal and a welcoming fire are an important part of your outdoor experience.”
With BioLite’s product line doubling in 2016, the BioLite Booth will also have new user-friendly accessories on display as well as new system offerings for a full off-grid energy experience.
“We’ve come a long way since the launch of the CampStove and we look forward to showing the outdoor industry our vision of Energy Everywhere,” said Cedar, “It’s going to be a big show, and an even bigger 2016.”
