BioLogic Bike Mount for Android Available Now

TAIPEI, TAIWAN — June 6, 2012 — BioLogic, a specialist in urban cycling gear, announced its Bike Mount for Android case, a weatherproof case for Android-based smartphones that mounts to bicycle handlebars or railings, is now available and shipping to retailers worldwide.

“Our Bike Mount for iPhone allowed people to use an iPhone on their bikes as a powerful cycling computer and we wanted to give this ability to Android users as well”, stated Kevin Chan, project manager for BioLogic. There are a lot of free and paid cycling apps for Android smartphones but no really good way to mount one to a bike. Our product not only securely attaches your phone to a bike, but also protects it against weather, sweat, grime, and shock.”

The Bike Mount for Android is a weatherproof hard-shell case that allows people to mount an Android phone to a bike so they can use GPS and an appropriate app to track speed, position, or distance traveled, while riding. A welded touch-sensitive membrane protects the phone from the weather but allows full access to the touchscreen. The case features a clear protected opening on the back for taking video or pictures and is sealed shut with a dual double-pivot lock system. The Bike Mount can pivot 360° so a phone can be used in portrait or landscape modes and comes with a mounting bracket that fits handlebars or stems with a diameter of 38 mm (1.5”) or smaller.

The Bike Mount for Android is compatible with a number of popular Android-based phones using the appropriate silicone Bike Mount for Android Liner. The liner protects against shock while allowing full use of the power and volume buttons. Four versions of the liner are now available and future versions will be released according to market demand. Current liners are compatible with the following phones:
• Samsung Galaxy SII
• HTC Desire HD / HTC EVO 4G / HTC Inspire 4G
• Samsung Galaxy S / LG Optimus 2X
• HTC Sensation

The Bike Mount for Android and individual Bike Mount for Android Liners are sold separately and will be available at select bicycle retailers worldwide at a manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of US$45 (€45) and US$10 (€10), respectively. The Bike Mount for Android and associated liners are currently available for purchase through the BioLogic Online Store.
