Bite Shoes Reorganizes Specialty Division

Dale Bathum, president of Bite Shoes, today announced the appointment of Evan Wert to the newly created position of Director of Sales and Marketing/Specialty Division. Wert will have overall responsibility for growing the division including the outdoor, running, comfort, fishing, and medical markets. He will direct sales strategies and programs, manage the domestic and international sales force, and develop creative and innovative dealer relations programs.

Bathum also announced that Kirsten Carpenter will assume the new position of Inside Key Accounts Manager. She will handle service and support of key accounts and work with the company’s sale force to increase service in the field. Both positions will be run from a new satellite office based in Bellingham, Washington.

In making the announcement, Bathum said, “The creation of these new positions being filled by Evan and Kirsten will allow us to continue our upward sales spiral and give me the time to concentrate on new technologies and designs for Bite shoes. Their experience in the outdoor and footwear markets will be invaluable in helping us continue expanding.”

Wert’s experience in the footbed business spans over 22 years. He was most recently with Shock Doctor and Superfeet Worldwide where he spent a total of 13 years in charge of sales and marketing, playing a key role in the both company’s steady growth. Previously he was co-owner of The Inner Boot, one of the first custom fit ski boot shops in the U.S. and co-pioneer for several other footbed brands. Evan also brings extensive retail management experience to the table. “I very much look forward to spearheading sales and creative marketing programs,” stated Wert. “Bite has huge potential and I’m glad to be a part of it.”

Kirsten joins Bite after a five year stint in the sales department at both Shock Doctor and Superfeet Worldwide, where she was instrumental in handling key accounts.
