Run-specific Boa System for Optimal Fit and Enhanced Performance
DENVER, COLO. – June 8, 2017
Boa Technology, creators of The Boa System, expands its award-winning fit systems in the run market with new textile-based lace and guides. In conjunction, Boa is pleased to announce a new brand partnership with ASICS, and the debut of Boa-powered running shoes with New Balance and Under Armour.
Built from the ground up specifically for runners, Boa’s entirely new system is designed to be on the forefront of the run market, aligned with industry needs, aesthetics, and performance factors. Set out with the goal to develop and integrate the best running-specific Boa solution, Boa surveyed and researched run brands and consumer needs, and conducted four rounds of field testing that spanned 100+ testers, 1,800 hours, and 20,000 miles. The result is a textile-based Boa System that allows the user to dial in the perfect fit for a more efficient stride and increased comfort. Whether you’re after a better experience on the road, or more stability on the trail, The Boa System stays secure mile after mile.
Made up of three integral parts: the dial, lace, and guides, The Boa System is ideal for integration in running footwear and is designed to further enhance fit, comfort, stability, and security. Leading with a launch on Boa-powered road and trail shoes for summer 2017, Boa’s newest platform will extend to a wide range of partner products and applications in the future.
The new run-specific system consists of the TX4™ soft lace, FormTX™ textile guides, and the secure L6 dial.
– Lace: The soft, textile TX4 lace is comprised of Dyneema® and polyester for it’s high strength and light weight properties, with a proprietary weave to maximize durability and minimize friction.
– Guide: The Boa FormTX lace guides feature a proprietary, highly engineered weave that conforms under tension, creating the ideal curvature for lace and guide interaction, and prevents buckling under high tension. Featuring a blend of nylon and Teflon®, the FormTX guides offer ultra low friction and high abrasion resistance.
– Dial: For added impact protection and security, the low profile L6 dial is available in two designs to best fit the application; a smoother, more seamlessly integrated dial designed for road shoes and a facetted dial for trail shoes that offers a better grip in muddy or wet environments.
“We are excited to bring the new system to the run market with our amazing brand partners,” says Chuck Mason, Chief Commercial Officer for Boa Technology. “We have reached new capabilities in terms of seamless integration and with our new lace and guides being available in a multitude of colors, we can customize the look in addition to function and performance.”
Extensively tested in the lab and in the field, each system is designed to outlast the life of the shoe and is backed by The Boa Guarantee.
Stay tuned for more product details as the new Boa-powered models from New Balance, ASICS, and Under Armour are introduced to the market later this year.
