Bob Woodruff and Dr. Kjell Nordstrom to deliver keynotes at IHRSA trade show

BOSTON-August 16, 2007- The International Health, Racquet & Sportsclub Association (IHRSA) has announced the keynote speaker lineup for its 27th Annual Convention & Trade Show, which will take place March 5-8, 2008 at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, CA.

Bob Woodruff, Emmy Award-Winning ABC News Anchor and Reporter, and Dr. Kjell Nordstrom, Global Business Visionary and author of Funky Business will headline the 2008 educational program, which will include over 100 speakers and presenters.

“We are thrilled to have Bob Woodruff and Kjell Nordstrom headline our convention this year,” said Joe Moore, IHRSA’s President & CEO. “Perseverance, resiliency and leadership are among the qualities our speakers have demonstrated through their experiences- traits from which we all can learn a great deal.”

Bob Woodruff will deliver “In an Instant” in a presentation sponsored by Precor at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5. As a respected ABC News anchor and reporter, Woodruff has been a mainstay in American broadcasting, winning three Emmys and both the George Foster Peabody and Alfred I. Dupont Award.

In January of 2006, while reporting in Iraq on U.S. and Iraqi security forces, a roadside bomb struck Woodruff’s vehicle near Taji, Iraq and left him seriously injured. In his presentation, Woodruff will recount the events preceding and following the life-altering experience, describing his new perspective on career and family, how he coped and overcame difficult circumstances, and ways in which audiences can recover from significant obstacles in their own lives.

On Friday, March 7 at 9:30 a.m., Dr. Kjell Nordstrom, author of Funky Business-Talent Makes Capital Dance will present “Funky Business” sponsored by Technogym.

Nordstrom is considered a guru of new world business, named as one of the world’s top experts in The 2005 Thinkers 50, the world’s first ranking of management thinkers. Nordstrom will deliver in his presentation the revolutionary reality that 1.3 kilograms of brain holds the key to your future- and the key to succeeding in competitive environments lies within creating a ‘funky’ business.
