FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Outdoor brands rallying around Liberty Bottleworks ‘Beers for BCM’ Event at OR

More than a dozen companies provide items to benefit Big City Mountaineers fundraiser

YAKIMA, Wash. – January 16, 2012 –
As the clock counts down to Outdoor Retailer Winter Market, companies from across the outdoor industry are contributing items from skis and apparel to packs and accessories for the “Beers for BCM” event hosted by Liberty Bottleworks at Outdoor Retailer.

The fundraiser to benefit Big City Mountaineers takes place from 4-6 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 20 at the Liberty Bottleworks booth (#56008) on the tradeshow floor. With a minimum $5 donation, industry insiders will get a custom BCM bottle from Liberty filled with 24oz. of beer from Park City’s Shades of Pale Brewery.

The limited edition bottle – also available online as part of Liberty’s “Karma Repair” line and through BCM — is made from 100 percent recycled aluminum, and sports a modern, graffiti-style design from a young Yakima artist depicting mountains, the sun, clouds, trees and other natural elements bursting out of a metallic silver background.

Plus, random bottles will be stuffed with vouchers for prizes from brands helping support Big City Mountaineers’ mission. As of Monday prior to OR, participating brands include:

  • Flylow
  • Mountainsmith
  • Marmot
  • Bertucci Watches
  • Jansport
  • Liberty Skis
  • Granite Gear
  • Lowa
  • Eagle’s Nest Hammocks
  • Height of Land Publications (publisher of Backcountry, Alpinist and Kronicle magazines)
  • Osprey
  • Backroom Coffee Roasters
  • Teva
  • Backpacker Magazine
  • Steripen
  • Cacoon

“It speaks volumes about the importance of the work done by Big City Mountaineers that so many companies are willing to give so generously to support their program,” said Liberty Bottleworks Executive Vice President/Co-Founder Ryan Clark. “Hosting this event for the industry at Outdoor Retailer is a chance to help BCM raise their profile, plus drink some beer and raise a lot of money for a great cause.”

Last year, a custom bottle introduced at for the Denver-based nonprofit at Outdoor Retailer Summer Market raised $2,000 for BCM in four days.

Liberty Bottleworks manufacturers all of its BPA-free bottles using 100 percent recycled aluminum on the latest American-produced machinery with American workers to create environmentally and economically-conscious products.
