Lakewood, CO – Brandwise has announced the January, 2012 debut for an off-line iPad App which will include features from its cutting-edge Visual Merchandiser order capture and sales presentation tool. It will be widely available Q1 of 2012 with pre-orders booking now. The announcement comes on the heels of news that the company has entered into an exclusive agreement with fellow Colorado-based tech company InspireSmart Solutions for them to design the front end of the application and convert Brandwise’s extensive backend business logic to work on an iPad.
The move to develop the application is a strategic step in Brandwise’s long-term goal for its technology to be hardware independent, meaning clients can use its software regardless of what platform they have; Windows laptop, desktop or tablet, Pocket PC, MAC or iPad. It also presents an enticing solution for companies that have already invested in the iPad hardware and are un-satisfied with some of the existing pop-up applications that offer limited capabilities and don’t integrate into their back-end.
“Our strength lies in our infrastructure,†says Todd Litzman, President of Brandwise. “What I mean by this is we currently connect with thousands of suppliers with our technology. By providing a fully integrated iPad solution we allow these suppliers to continue to benefit from this information pipeline regardless of the hardware platform used to take the orders.â€
“When you are investing in a technology partner,†Litzman continues, “you want to be sure they’re poised to go in any direction that technology takes them and not locked into a single platform solution, thus locking you into and limiting your reps to that platform. Our responsibility to our clients lies with ensuring they enjoy the power of their Brandwise products regardless of what hardware they have.â€
“We’ve been providing distributed, off-line applications for over 14 years. We understand what it takes to deliver and maintain these types of applications and have the proven support infrastructure to handle them – another key component in the selection of right long term partner.â€
Brandwise will continue to develop its Rep Portal application which enables sales reps to enter customer orders using a web browser for those that don’t wish to have a local application. It will also be widely available in the first quarter of the new year.
Litzman continues to caution businesses to be thoughtful when investing in tablet hardware or tablet-specific Apps through the end of the year without first thinking through their goals, educating themselves on what’s in store for the coming months, and ensuring the technology conforms to their needs and not the other way around. “With the introduction of the Windows 8 touch-centric user interface in 2012, the entire tablet and technology landscape may change yet again, much like it did with the release of the iPad,†he says. “For the greatest ROI, you’ll want applications, an operating system, and hardware that easily integrate with your other business systems.â€
