BRIDGEDALE EXTENDS ITS SEARCH AND RESCUE CAMPAIGN TO NORTH AMERICA – 10,000 PAIRS OF SOCKS AND COUNTING!

Bridgedale, a world leading manufacturer of technical outdoor socks, is looking to replicate its most recent UK mountain rescue team campaign, by extending its partnership support to search and rescue teams throughout in the US and Canada.

This follows the huge success in the UK where Bridgedale has provided more than 10,000 pairs of socks to volunteer members of over 70 search and rescue teams during its first year of support.

Ahead of Outdoor Retailer Show in Salt Lake City this week, the Bridgedale North America Team is rolling out an invitation to interested rescue teams to join a similar scheme and to get in touch to find out more.

When Bridgedale first started discussions with mountain rescue teams, it quickly became apparent that most members considered socks as one of the most vital pieces of kit. Having to spend many search and rescue hours in often unpredictable and gruelling conditions over challenging terrains, the value of high performance and comfortable socks has been left in no doubt. Bridgedale’s WoolFusion™ Trekker has become the all-round rescue sock and has been beneficial in helping teams get to any incident on the mountains quickly and safely, despite often difficult terrains and weather conditions. WoolFusion™Trail and Ultra Light have proved popular for warmer weather or time spent around HQ.

Steve Fowler, Managing Director at Bridgedale commented: “We’re dedicated to showing our appreciation of the crucial rescue work carried out by these teams. Without these voluntary organisations, safety in the mountains would be severely compromised. As an outdoor enthusiast myself, I am very passionate about providing support to Search and Rescue Teams as we simply don’t know when they will be needed. In the UK, as in many other parts of the world, team members and their supporters are volunteers who give their time freely. They deserve great socks to help them save lives and protect our fellow hikers and mountaineers”.

Steve continued: “With our Bridgedale North America subsidiary now up and running, it’s a great time to extend our support to deserving organisations throughout the USA and Canada”.

Any organisations interested in receiving Bridgedale’s support or wishing to sign up to the company’s Pro-User Program, should contact Anna Nikolaus, Marketing Manager, Bridgedale North America, 1400 Bayly Street Unit 6B, Pickering, ON, L1W-3R2, Canada. Email: anna.nikolaus@bridgedale.com. Both Anna and Steve will also be available on the Bridgedale booth at Summer Outdoor Retailer Show in Salt Lake City from August 5-8, booth #PV2205.
