Bruno Maier to Leave RockyMounts

Returning home to family in Ohio and a new entrepreneurial opportunity

BOULDER, Colo. – March 21, 2017 – RockyMounts, the company that’s stoked to carry and secure your prized possessions, today announced President Bruno Maier will be leaving the company at the end of this month to return to Ohio to be closer to his family. In mid April, he’ll be taking on an entrepreneurial role with a company in the outdoor industry.

Since Maier joined the company in October 2013, RockyMounts has managed an average revenue growth of 22 percent per year, facilitated by a “product first” strategy. The company launched 12 new rack products, including the TomaHawk and SwitchHitter roof racks, and the award-winning SplitRail hitch rack. 2017 sales are expected to increase with the release of the MonoRail and BackStage hitch racks, the latter being the first platform rack that swings away from the back of any vehicle.

Growth during the last three and half years required RockyMounts to relocate its headquarters to a facility three times larger, and update its operating systems with expanded EDI capabilities, CRM tools and an integrated b-to-b website.

“While I’m disappointed I won’t be with RockyMounts during its continued growth, I’m proud that we’ve been able to position the company for further expansion,” said Maier, who held positions at Huffy Bicycle Company, Pacific Cycle, Cycling Sports Group and PeopleForBikes.org prior to joining RockyMounts.

He continued, “In the last three years we’ve been able to expand from top-of-car offerings to hitch racks, truck mount systems, and a swing-away platform rack. 2018 will see RockyMounts introduce products in completely new categories that fit its brand and culture.”

“RockyMounts is doing great,” added founder Bobby Noyes. “We’ve grown our staff and rep force significantly, our distribution is more diverse than ever, and we have new marketing initiatives and categories on the way. Bruno helped put us on a growth trajectory and we are psyched to continue with our dealers on that path.”
