Starting in January of 2009, all Buff headwear garments will include Polygiene technology to fight against odor-causing bacteria and maintain Buff’s freshness.
Polygiene is a breakthrough antimicrobial treatment that is integrated into the polyester fiber fabric of the following Buff lines: Original Buff, Reflective Buff, Polar Buff, Polar Thermal Buff, and Cyclone Buff. Polygiene is composed of silver salts and recycled silver that releases silver ions into the fabric at a controlled pace to inhibit the growth of microorganisms. The more moisture, heat and bacteria your body stirs up, the faster the silver ions are released into the fabric, thus completely emitting any bad odors.
The Polygiene treatment lasts a lifetime and effectively blocks 99.9-percent of odor-causing agents. Additionally, Polygiene reduces static electricity and is exceptionally soft against your skin.
Polygiene does not contain any harmful substances and complies with the OKEO-TEX standard 100, which ensures that it is 100-percent safe to wear. Polygiene is an environmentally friendly treatment that only emits silver ions.
