SANTA ROSA, Calif. (June 10, 2011)–Buff, Inc. athlete and two-time Leadville Trail 100 winner, Rebecca Rusch, will play host and mentor at this weekend’s Beti Bike Bash in Lakewood, Colo.’s scenic Bear Creek Lake Park. The Beti Bike Bash is Colorado’s first women’s-only mountain bike race and marks the second stop on Rebecca’s year long Gold Rusch Tour, designed to pique women’s interest in the outdoors and cycling.
Rebecca is a Buff, Inc. sponsored athlete who has accomplished numerous feats with Buff® headwear under her helmet or around her neck. During the summer months, Rebecca’s go-to is the Seamless Headband Buff® because it fits comfortably under a helmet and performs as a headband or helmet liner. Made with CoolMax®Extreme, it blocks 95 percent of UV rays, wicks sweat, and keeps you cool.
Prior to Sunday’s race, Rebecca will host a screening of the 2010 “Race Across the Sky” documentary of the Leadville Trail 100 race with all proceeds benefitting Mountain2Mountain, International Mountain Biking Association (IMBA), and the Colorado Off-Road Mountain Bike Association (COMBA). The movie will screen Friday, June 10th at 7 PM.
In addition to the mountain bike race on Sunday, participants can attend Rebecca’s mountain bike clinic on Saturday, June 11th at the Bear Creek Lake Park race site. Rebecca and several other professional women’s racers will host a course pre-ride and Q&A session where they will answer questions about race tactics, techniques, nutrition, hydration and race preparation. Interested racers can preview Bear Creek Lake Park’s singletrack in a YouTube video here.
