Buff, Inc., known for their innovative, versatile and multifunctional headwear, will be providing 295 Striper UV Buff samples to the Manhattan Cup hosted by the Fishermen’s Conservation Association on May 15, 2009 in the New York Harbor.
“We are proud to sponsor the Manhattan Cup and to be a part of such an important event dedicated to conserving the natural fishing environment in the New York area. Buff resonates so well in the angling market and we are so happy to take part in the action,†says Shirley Choi Brunetti, U.S. vice president and general manager.
The Manhattan Cup has become the premiere inshore fishing tournament in the Northeast and the largest catch-and-release tournament in the tri-state area. Top anglers from around the world will compete for the largest striped bass, bluefish and weakfish in the bait, artificial and fly-fishing divisions.
The Fishermen’s Conservation Association, a non-profit organization committed to conserving, protecting and promoting New York’s fisheries, estuaries, tributaries and watersheds, hosts the tournament. Proceeds garnered at the event will help fund “Hooked for a Lifetimeâ€, a children’s fishing program, “To Catch a Cure†cystic fibrosis foundation, as well as help gain beach access and local environmental conservationist efforts.
“We are pleased to have support from Buff, Inc. for the tournament! Competitors that are not’t already Buff fans, will surely become fans after experiencing the Striper UV Buff’s look and functionality….a perfect fit for this event,†says David Fallon, tournament co-director.
Buff, Inc. will donate 295 Striper UV Buff samples. The Striper UV Buff protects against 95-percent of damaging UV rays and can be worn over 12 different ways to accommodate weather conditions and personal style. It is made from CoolMax® fabric to provide superior moisture wicking and dry comfort properties, as well as helping to reduce skin temperature and maintain hydration.
Additionally, the Striper UV Buff incorporates Polygiene technology for active odor and sweat control by releasing non-toxic silver ions to break down odor-causing bacteria.
