(Santa Rosa, CA) March 19, 2019 – Buff, Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of BUFF®, creators of versatile performance headwear for all-season outdoor enthusiasts and athletes, is pleased to announce the launch of its Triple Crown Series line of Original Multifunctional Headwear. The Triple Crown Series will pay homage to the wild beauty found along the Pacific Crest, Continental Divide and Appalachian trails with art that features iconic plants, animals, and places found while hiking these trails. A portion of proceeds from the sales of this series will benefit the Continental Divide Trail Coalition (CDTC), Appalachain Trail Conservancy (ATC) and the Pacific Crest Trail Association (PCTA).
As the primary nonprofit steward of the Pacific Crest Trail, the PCTA engages, trains and manages thousands of volunteers every year who support the trail in a wide variety of ways—including trail maintenance, permanently protecting land along the trail, and advocating for the PCT when legislative decisions are made that impact funding for national trails.
“While our accomplishments on behalf of the trail are noteworthy, the challenges are always greater—so funds from sales of BUFF® products are vitally important to our ongoing efforts to protect, preserve and promote the Pacific Crest Trail,” said PCTA Director of Communications and Marketing, Scott Wilkinson.
Similar to the PCTA, the CDTC works to manage and protect the Continental Divide Trail as a recreational resource, which provides 3,100 miles of stunning vistas, rich history, and diverse cultures in the Rocky Mountain West. According to Teresa Martinez, the Executive Director of the CDTC, their partnership with BUFF® will allow them to further their ultimate goal of protecting the Trail’s wealth of natural and scenic resources, building a sense of community, promoting public land stewardship, inspiring healthy lifestyles, and encouraging people to know, use, and care for the CDT.
“The proceeds from our partnership with BUFF® will go directly toward our work to complete and protect the Continental Divide Trail as a world-class recreational resource,” Martinez said. “From playing in the dirt on trail maintenance projects, to educating visitors about Leave No Trace, to advocating for the CDTC in Congress, the Continental Divide Trail Coalition does it all in service of the Continental Divide Trail.”

“We’re thrilled to have partnered with these inspirational and like-minded organizations,” said BUFF® Marketing Manager, Kevin Walker. “Being able to contribute and make a tangible difference in our national trails system is a goal of BUFF® and at the backbone of our company. We’re honored to be a part of something bigger.”
