Camber Outdoors Announces 2017 Mentoring Program Participants
Boulder, CO—January 9, 2017: Camber Outdoors, the organization focused on supporting and accelerating women’s leadership in the active-outdoor industries, has announced the 2017 class of participants in its Mentoring Program. This announcement coincides with National Mentoring Month.
The only cross-company, cross-industry mentoring program in the active-outdoor industries, the Camber Outdoors Mentoring Program facilitates one-on-one learning and leadership development opportunities between director/manager-level women and women executives. It is designed to increase retention and career satisfaction of female employees and to create a tradition of mentoring that will result in more gender-diverse leadership teams.
“Research shows that 83% of women in middle management have the desire to move to the next level in their company,” said Amy Luther, Camber Outdoors’ Director of Member Strategy & Engagement. “Camber Outdoors is leveraging this opportunity to re-engage the skilled mid-level employee, enhance retention of top-tier talent, and ultimately feed candidate pools to C-Suite positions in our industries.”
Camber Outdoors mentors are a dynamic group of active-outdoor industries veterans holding positions at the VP level or higher, with proven people-development abilities and dedication to the program goals. In order to qualify for the program, Camber Outdoors mentees must hold a manager or director-level role in the active-outdoor industries and have three to seven years of experience.
“My time spent in the mentoring program truly accelerated my career path,” said Meg Fogg, Sales Representative at Alpin Sales. My mentor provided me with invaluable time and feedback, helped to guide me through the next steps in my career, and gave me real-time advice in situations that arose and in planning for the future. I count my mentor as a key player in my career—and a real friend in the industry.”
