Boulder, CO (April 29, 2020) – Camber Outdoors, a national nonprofit supporting workplace inclusion, equity, and diversity across the active-outdoors industries, gathers active-outdoor industry leaders for an Interactive Training Webinar: “Return to Work Strategy – Diverse Workplaces, Diverse Perspectives” on Tuesday, May 5 at 12 PM MDT.

Devising a return-to-work strategy is one of the most challenging tasks in the uncertain and rapidly changing environment created by the COVID-19 pandemic. It is a task made even more challenging as companies attempt to meet the needs of an increasingly diverse workforce. Successful execution of return-to-work plans will set the stage for authentic relationship-building among employees and consumers alike and build trust and engagement across the broader industry for years to come.

Camber Outdoors will lead an interactive and enlightening discussion with Camber Outdoors Partner Panelists about both the challenges and the opportunities created by thoughtful return to work planning. Research has proven that diverse minds and perspectives result in the best outcomes. That’s why Camber Outdoors is bringing together a diverse set of organizations – representing a range of industry segments, company sizes, and operating philosophies – to share their Return to Work plans amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Our industry has a history of collaboration amongst competitors on issues of importance that will position it for a strong future. A thoughtful and inclusive return to work amid COVID-19 is one such issue,” said Emily Newman, Camber Outdoors Executive Director. “The return-to-work transition offers the active-outdoor industry a prime opportunity to target the dual objectives of both defining the future of workplace, as well as creating authentic relationships across communities.”

Panelists and their diverse perspectives include:

  • LOGE: An outdoor adventure-travel focused company
  • REI: A retail-based active-outdoors company
  • Ruffwear: A mid-sized active-outdoors company
  • VF Corporation: A global manufacturing active-outdoors company
  • Leaders in the active-outdoors REI, Ruffwear, LOGE Camps and VF Corporation join us to share valuable behind-the-scenes insights into their evolving Return to Work Strategies, as well as tools and resources to support partner companies across the industry in making a return that is conscious of realities across different employee and consumer groups.
  • Additionally, participants will receive post-webinar toolkits – blueprints for return-to-work plans from our participant companies and beyond that include recommendations, insights, best practices and downloadable creative assets.

Topics addressed in this live interactive dialogue will include:

  • Insights on how to create an inclusive, thoughtful, and well-designed Return to Work Plan tailored to your company’s unique needs
  • Guidance on key issues related to ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of employees
  • Legal issues to consider in managing the potential risks that employees face in returning to work
  • How to lead with values and build a culture that supports a diverse array of employees and customers
  • How to use the Return to Work process as an opportunity to:
  • – Define the future of more inclusive, equitable and diverse active-outdoor workplaces
    – Demonstrate and actualize an industry commitment to people
    – Build authentic relationships and connections with communities and partners

At Camber Outdoors, we partner with you to make workplaces of the active-outdoor industries safe, welcoming, and sustainable for ALL people.
